Paddington 2025 Script Concepts

THE FUTURE : 2025 Paddington Central

ARCHITECTURE
Future technology will influence the retail experience to either support online shopping or revert back to open market spaces
Communities close to CBD's are office enforced whilst communities further away develop in industrial means
Significant sized spaces are required for computer/technological services
Shopping stores become hologram spaces in communal green space (hologram of store logo above space)
Education areas in 2025 allow for virtual educations for children
Residential apartments are designed for flexible maintenance of services and adaptable spaces allow for less spaced required by occupants
As a result of rises in natural disasters, emergency plans and procedures are known by the entire community and implemented into community centre design
Products and resources are either delivered to individual's homes or picked up from delivery sites (within the cluster cities) shortly after hologram purchase

MEDICINE/HEALTH
Health is analyzed by implanted chip (ie. the ‘iME’)
Medicine allows people/skin to look younger and life spans will continue to increase
Plants/trees are genetically changed so only grow to a certain height and require less maintenance
Gene manipulation is a new technology starting to emerge
iMe chip analyzes emotion for individual/professional reflection

TRANSPORT
Road system in Paddington (Latrobe Terrace) under consideration during 2012-2016
Widening of roads on main street and bus lanes will be implemented
Freight moving will become a future necessity - require their own roads or tunnel systems
Cycling and walking paths will be important within the near future
Bike racks need to be available
Powered vehicles such as scooters and powered bikes will also come into play
Latrobe Tce, Given Tce and Enoggera Tce will become built up as the residential zones around the area increase in capacity
Vertical underground parking
Transport integrated into electrical engines
Delivery services and public transport occupy most of the roads
Products and resources are either delivered to individual's homes or picked up from delivery sites shortly after hologram purchase

SOCIETY
Society becomes closer and faster paced due to technological advancements
Less privacy - implants allow all to know where you are and you're current health
Individuals can attend virtual 'parties' or meetings through virtual hologram
'Your' own technology knows your taste in music, fashion, etc. iME and simplifies shopping etc.
High dependency upon technology.. concerns about viruses or the fact that independent technologies may be able to learn and take over humanity
Advertising is everywhere.. unfortunately money and the market still rule society
Non-advertising spaces are enforced by law as a result of society's non-advertising revolution
Due to a rise in natural disasters.. emergency plan and procedures are known by the entire community
Sports still allow for exercise and require space
Local communities thrive through ingenious use of shared 3D printers and other equipment to create whatever they need from recycled materials

TECHNOLOGY
Virtual games and virtual walls etc virtual shops are the norm
Fingerprint coding links into 'computer walls' (when you simply touch it) and brings up your details, information etc.
Basic robots will help with around the house jobs
Individuals attend 'parties' or meetings in virtual hologram form
Room talks to occupant and provides services and information (ie. time, energy usage, answers general questions, links to phone etc)
New materials for fashion: clothes change interior climate etc.
'Your' own technology knows your taste in music, fashion, etc. iME
Education games are practice for realistic situations so kids grow faster mentally and individuals are able to train
Majority of energy obtained renewably and used locally
Plants/trees are genetically changed so only grow to a certain height and require less maintenance
Phones are available for wrist implantation
Energy obtained from people walking along energy obtaining tiles
Travel is available virtually but individuals still enjoy travelling away from their cities
Virtual tourism is an expense to keep tourism afloat within the market
Local communities thrive through ingenious use of shared 3D printers and other equipment to create whatever they need from recycled materials

Concept found online of the world we may live in in 2025:
Scenario 3: Centralised survival:
"Centralised survival examines a world that only just woke up in time to environmental challenges: dramatic climate change, subsequent food shortages and freak weather conditions have led to the need for strong government intervention. A strict carbon quota system has been brought in to curb harm to the planet, impinging on everything from travel to the entertainment industry and reining in the wasteful excesses of the early 21st century. Nevertheless, the need for universal action has given society a common focus and a shared sense of "being in this together" – a modern-day Blitz spirit prevails – and political squabbling seems like a relic of a lazier age."
